I grew up and attended school locally at La Sierra High, ARC, and CSUS. Through it all, ART was my
life. My parents, who still live in Carmichael, were artistic in their own way. My dad took the time to teach me some basics that got me interested in
learning more. I had some wonderful teachers along the way also (John Kaneko and Gary Pruner mostly). In the 80’s I spent some years working in
San Francisco theaters as a designer of Stage, costumes, lighting , and graphic. I had the chance to work with some big names and even had my
stage design go to the Singapore Theater festival in '85. I loved the work but had to come home to Carmichael to raise my 3 sons.
Moving back to the Sacramento area 20 years ago helped me rediscover the great parks and rivers of the area. Sacramento has so many wonderful trees that I love painting. I try to paint different subjects but I'm always drawn back to the trees. I truly love the outdoors and nature inspired me to step back and paint our Urban Landscapes. I love the scenes that we pass every day and hardly notice. My favorite mediums are water color, acrylic and oil pastel.
